Launch of our Regional Hub Travel and Training Grants for 2026

February 3, 2026

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Regional Hub Travel and Training Grants for 2026, a new funding round designed to strengthen collaboration, build critical skills, and amplify research impact across our regional hub network.

The 2026 grants program aims to support researchers, practitioners, and partners working within our regional hubs by enabling greater mobility, knowledge exchange, and professional development. By investing in travel and training opportunities, the initiative seeks to foster stronger cross-regional partnerships and accelerate high-impact research outcomes in malaria-endemic settings.

Under the scheme, grants of up to $7,500 are available to support a wide range of activities. Eligible uses of funding include research exchanges between partner institutions, fieldwork activities, dissemination of research findings, collaborative research planning and implementation, and participation in targeted training opportunities. Funding may be used for travel within malaria-endemic countries, as well as for travel to Australia for members based in our regional hubs, helping to deepen institutional links and facilitate hands-on collaboration.

The program is intended to be flexible and responsive to the needs of regional partners, recognising the importance of locally led research, capacity strengthening, and sustained collaboration. By supporting both early-career and established researchers, the grants aim to contribute to long-term skills development while enhancing the reach and impact of ongoing and future research initiatives.

Applications open on 23 February 2026 and will close on 24 July 2026. Applicants are encouraged to begin planning early and to consider how their proposed activities will promote collaboration, strengthen capacity, and deliver meaningful outcomes across the regional hub network.
