Ashleigh is a PhD student in the Malaria and Infectious Disease Epidemiology Group at the Burnet Institute, under the supervision of Prof Freya Fowkes, Dr Katherine O’Flaherty, Dr Ellen Kearney, and Dr James Beeson. Her project focuses on identifying novel salivary antigen candidates for Anopheles vector serosurveillance in the Asia-Pacific region. Her project further utilises antibody biomarkers to assess the efficacy of vector intervention programs in reducing Anopheles bite exposure. Through her research, Ashleigh seeks to improve malaria serosurveillance techniques, progressing towards malaria elimination in the Asia-Pacific region.
