Ihsan is currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford based at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit Indonesia. He is under the supervision of Prof Kevin Baird, Prof Ric Price, Dr Rob Commons, and Dr James Watson. His project aims to optimise the radical cure of Plasmodium vivax malaria through three main approaches: (1) exploring primaquine-induced methaemoglobin production as a surrogate endpoint for radical cure efficacy, (2) comparative evaluation of statistical methods commonly used in the analysis of vivax clinical data, and (3) assessing the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of varying primaquine doses and regimens in Indonesia. Ihsan has a background in epidemiology, biostatistics, and medicine.
