Jacob Westaway

Jacob is a bioinformatician at the Menzies School of Health Research. During his PhD, he used metagenomic methods to investigate the human gut microbiome of preterm infants. Currently, Jacob is using omic and bioinformatic methods to better understand novel Plasmodium species, with a particular focus on the emerging zoonotic malaria parasite P. knowlesi.
