Niamh Meagher

Niamh Meagher is a research fellow and biostatistician in the Epidemiology Unit at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection & Immunity, where she provides statistical support to researchers across the Doherty Institute for the design, analysis, and interpretation of clinical, epidemiological, and laboratory-based studies.

She has previously worked on several malaria projects, including an investigation of the safety of low dose primaquine for those with G6PD deficiency (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pntd.0011522), the global costs of Plasmodium vivax malaria (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pmed.1003614), and a cluster randomised trial comparing the efficacy of supervised and unsupervised primaquine treatment in preventing P. vivax malaria recurrence in Indonesia (https://doi.org/10.1016/S1473-3099(21)00358-3).

Niamh is an advocate for best practice use of statistics in health research, and provides ongoing education and training in statistics and data analysis to researchers from all backgrounds and across all career stages.
